This or something better.
I’ve added “this or something better to the end of my prayers, especially the ones where I make requests.
Its an act of surrender. It says, I trust that if You don’t give me what I ask for, You’ll give me something better.
I never prayed that before my 33rd year around the Sun. My prayers use to say I want what I want this way. Life has taught me that I should expect for my prayers to be answered, but I should be open to the answer looking different than I imagined. Trusting that God really knows what I desire. Trusting that the entire Universe is conspiring to bring it to me.
Which means I’m not married to my idea of what something should look like. I think of it as letting God surprise me. I will keep letting God surprise me.
You know my requests and I thank you in advance!
This or something better.
